Every product page on this site carries the same blocks in the same order. This explains what each one is, and just as importantly what it is not.
The short version. The facts panel is the summary, the specification table is the guarantee, the properties table describes the material, and the safety block is a summary of the MSDS rather than the MSDS itself. The batch certificate of analysis governs what you actually receive.
Molecular formula, CAS number, molecular weight, grade or assay, standard packing and product family. This is the identification block. The CAS number is the one field that unambiguously identifies the substance, and it is worth checking against your own specification before anything else — product names vary between suppliers and countries, CAS numbers do not.
This is the single most misread field on any chemical catalogue, ours included. Some grades are quoted as element content, such as 33% Zn. Others are quoted as purity of the compound, such as 99.5% min. They answer different questions and cannot be compared with each other or dropped into the same cost calculation.
Where a grade is written as a range, such as 19-20% Fe, the lower figure is the one to plan against. Where a page says ‘various grades’, it means the material really is supplied in more than one and the grade has to be fixed when you enquire.
Where a product page carries one, this is the guaranteed analysis: the parameters and the limits. Twenty-seven of our product pages currently publish one. Where a page does not, the specification is available on request rather than assumed — ask, and we will send it with the quotation.
Appearance, solubility, melting or decomposition behaviour and so on. This describes the material. It is not a specification and nothing in it is a guarantee; it is there so you can tell whether the material will behave the way your process needs.

It is a summary. The complete signed MSDS governs, and it is sent with every quotation — request it from the button on the product page before handling, transporting or storing anything.
The industries and processes a grade is supplied into. It tells you where the material is used; it is not a recommendation that this grade suits your particular process. The product selector lets you browse the catalogue by these sectors.
