My textile dyeing batches keep coming out patchy in colour, what's causing it?
Patchy, uneven dyeing is most often caused by poor fabric preparation, water hardness or metal ions in the water, dye added too fast, or temperature and liquor circulation that are uneven. Test the process water and check the preparation stage before changing dyes.
Hard water and iron in water are frequent, easily missed causes. Your dyeing technologist can review the recipe and process. Taskon supplies chemicals into textile processing; see the textile and leather industry page.
